Day 3. 12 Jun 2021

Gilgandra

After a lazy start to the day, we were greeted by some blue sky and warmer weather. Mid morning we headed off for a nice walk along the Castlereagh river to the Rural museum - about 5 kms return. First stop on the way was the auction of the military historical collection belonging to the late Brian Bywater which was housed across the road in the old Hitchen House Military museum. The Rural Museum brought back many memories of how life was once lived. In the afternoon, I managed to get out on the bike for a short ride before the temperature dropped too much. Gilgandra is a friendly and clean town, and was well worth the visit.
