14 June 2021 - Lightning Ridge
Day 5. 14 Jun 2021
Lightning Ridge
After a slow start, I set up the bike and set off to explore some of the sites and quirkiness of Lightning Ridge, while Noeleene did some washing and cleaning. When I returned we went for a stroll around town and visited John Murray's gallery. What an incredible display by a very talented artist who captures the essence of the Australian outback and humour. I finished the day with dip in the Artesian Bore Baths. Natural pressure sends the water to the surface through a bore from the Great Artesian Basin and is approximately two million years old! At 40 degrees, its very soothing.
