Day 2. 11 Jun 2021
Canowindra to Gilgandra 245 km
The rain held off long enough to pack up and get on our way towards Gilgandra, a slightly longer trip of 245 km. It was bitterly cold packing up and we were looking forward to be heading towards some warmer weather. Our first stop was at Geurie where we warmed ourselves with some comfort food - nice hot potato chips and a cup of coffee from a small cafe which had a nice hot wood fire burning in the corner. We arrived in Gilgandra at about 1330 and checked in for a 2 night stay at the Rest a While caravan park. A very small and tired old caravan park that the relative new owners are making a good effort to slowly bring back to life. It suited our needs perfectly at a respectable cost of $26 per nite. After settling in, we went for a short stroll through town and we were pleasantly surprised.
